With over 15 years of industry experience, we provide end-to-end real estate services—from acquisition and development to construction and long-term property management. With over $800 million in active projects, we’re growing fast and looking for passionate professionals to join our team.

At Paragon, we foster a workplace where employees thrive both professionally and personally. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, career development opportunities, and a dynamic culture that reflects The Paragon Way—our commitment to excellence, collaboration, and innovation.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Development Technologist to support the technical coordination, design review, planning, and documentation of Paragon Living’s pre‑development and development activities. Reporting to the Development Manager, this role is ideal for candidates with an Architectural Technologist, Engineering Technologist, or design coordination background who enjoy working at the intersection of development, architecture, and construction.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring our multi‑family residential projects are technically sound, well coordinated, and successfully advanced from concept through approvals.

What You Will Be Doing:

Technical Review & Design Coordination

  • Review architectural, structural, civil, and mechanical drawings for coordination, discrepancies, constructability, and design intent alignment.
  • Support value‑engineering assessments and provide technical input to internal teams.
  • Coordinate drawing exchanges and maintain version control for consultant deliverables.
  • Support Estimating and Construction teams by clarifying design requirements and technical details.

Pre‑Development Planning & Due Diligence

  • Contribute to site evaluations, zoning analysis, environmental reviews, servicing summaries, and regulatory research.
  • Interpret development drawings, concept plans, and municipal policy documents.
  • Assist in preparing development schedules, milestone trackers, and project checklists.

Consultant & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Schedule and participate in development, design, and planning meetings with architects, engineers, planners, and municipal partners.
  • Prepare agendas, take minutes, and maintain action‑item logs.
  • Track all consultant submissions, reports, and deliverables to ensure consistency and timely progress.

Municipal Approvals & Technical Submissions (as required)

  • Support the preparation of rezoning, variance, subdivision, conditional use, and permit applications.
  • Assist in drafting technical reports, planning submissions, and public engagement materials.
  • Track comments from authorities and prepare consolidated responses.

Energy Efficiency, Sustainability & Innovation

  • Assist with collecting data for energy modelling, rebate programs, and performance analysis.
  • Coordinate consultant information for sustainable design and building initiatives.

Project Tracking & Documentation

  • Manage development timelines, approval trackers, and key milestone reports.
  • Organize technical documentation, project files, and naming conventions for accuracy and consistency.
  • Support the preparation of monthly development summaries and lender documentation.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Diploma in Architectural Technology, Engineering Technology, or related discipline strongly preferred.
  • C.E.T., C.Tech.Arch., or P.Eng. (or eligibility) considered an asset.
  • 2–5 years of experience in architectural, engineering, or design coordination roles preferred.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret multidisciplinary construction drawings.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, or similar design review software considered an asset.
  • Exposure to municipal planning processes, zoning, permits, and development regulations is beneficial.
  • Exceptional organization, communication, and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines, track approvals, and maintain document control systems.
  • Interest or experience in sustainability, energy efficiency, or building performance analysis.

Why Join Paragon Living?

  • A supportive and collaborative team environment.
  • Opportunities for growth, leadership, and professional development.
  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.
  • A workplace culture that values creativity, connection, and community.
